About Me
I started ‘WagLee’ in 2016 when, after 22 years, I gave up teaching PE to become a dog walker (and they say never work with children or animals... maybe I never got that memo!).
I was fortunate enough to become Head of Department but, once I became a mother, all I really wanted was to spend more time with my children and so I decided to work part-time. I was also disillusioned with my job, it was constantly changing and was more about meeting targets than actually teaching ‘sport’ (the main reason I had chosen this profession).
And so … WagLee was born.
“Why dog walking?” do you ask.
I have always been an animal lover - from my very first goldfish ‘Salt and Vinegar’ to a rabbit called ‘Thumper’ and then ‘Cindy’ our beautiful Golden Retriever (perhaps the name had something to do with the ‘Sindy’ dolls my twin sister and I used to play with ...who knows?).
I wanted a job which fitted around both my 2 boys as well as Mika, our Golden Retriever. As a family we love to go on long adventures and so I decided ‘walking dogs’ was the perfect job for me and one which would also fit in perfectly with my part-time job, as a ‘student co-ordinator’ working for a guardianship company, responsible for international students.
I am very fortunate to live in Kent where I am surrounded by beautiful countryside. I am able to offer both ‘hourly’ walks as well as longer adventures. Your dog(s) can enjoy walks up to 5 miles and you can be sure I include lots of fun and games, and of course cuddles, along the way.
